A very special home on the Costa Brava where wood envelops everything
Leaving the cold of northern Europe behind in search of light, sea and a more relaxed lifestyle on the Costa Brava is a life-changing decision that is also reflected in the architecture. This is how this house with a wooden interior came about, a project where the warmth of the materials, aesthetic coherence and respect for the Mediterranean essence create a home with its own identity.
In the renovation of this house, Moskito Parquets participated in the installation of natural wood flooring, technical floors and reclaimed wood beams, combining technique and craftsmanship in every corner of the house.
The result is a perfect example of houses with wooden interiors where each material has been chosen according to its use, the light and the experience of living there.

Natural oak parquet flooring in the main areas: continuity, light and warmth
The floors in the bedrooms, hallways and living areas are covered with period 1 oak parquet, a natural wood flooring that provides visual continuity and a feeling of constant comfort throughout the home. This material runs through the rooms like a common thread, unifying the project and reinforcing the identity of the house.
Oak parquet flooring is not just an aesthetic choice. Its resistance, its ability to age beautifully and its warm feel make it an ideal material for areas of heavy daily use. Thanks to this choice, the home conveys that feeling so sought after in houses with wooden interiors: that of a welcoming home that can be enjoyed barefoot.
In the bedrooms, the wooden flooring is combined with natural textiles, blue woodwork and generous natural light that enhances the feeling of spaciousness. Here, wood becomes an element that accompanies rest and relaxation.

Reclaimed timber beams: structure, character and Mediterranean identity
Another key feature of the project is the wooden beams installed in different rooms of the house. These are reclaimed wooden beams, which add character, texture and a strong architectural identity to the spaces.
Houses with wooden beams have a timeless quality, a natural balance between tradition and modernity. In this house, the beams interact with the parquet floors, white walls and large windows, creating a contrast that enhances both the structure and the light.
Each wooden beam reinforces the feeling of authenticity in the house and emphasises the Mediterranean spirit that permeates every room.
High-resistance technical vinyl in the gym
Not all spaces require the same material, and in this home, each choice responds to a functional logic. In the gym area, Moskito Parquets installed high-resistance technical vinyl flooring, especially suitable for intensive use, impact, humidity, and temperature changes.
This type of flooring offers:
- Greater sound absorption
- Non-slip surface
- High durability
- Comfort underfoot
A perfect solution for a space where physical activity requires a material other than parquet, without breaking the aesthetic coherence of the whole.

Decorative wooden staircase: a centrepiece that connects spaces
The decorative wooden staircase is one of the most unique elements of the home. It is not only a functional link between floors, but also an authentic piece of design that articulates the space from the entrance.
The wooden steps, crafted with careful attention to detail, are combined with ceramic details that add visual rhythm and a nod to tradition. This wooden staircase does not interrupt the continuity of the project, but rather reinforces it, becoming a sculptural element that complements the natural wood flooring throughout the rest of the house.
Wood also in unique spaces: wine cellar and leisure areas
The coherence of the project extends even to the most special spaces in the house. In the wine cellar and leisure areas, wood is once again present, whether in floors, cladding or structural elements, creating enveloping environments full of personality.
Here, wood takes on a more sober, intimate tone, accompanying soft lighting and stone materials to create spaces designed for leisurely enjoyment.

A house with wooden interiors designed from a global perspective
This project is a clear example of how wood can be the focal point around which the entire design of a home revolves. It is not a question of using it as a simple decorative resource, but rather of integrating it meaningfully into each area:
- Natural oak parquet flooring in living rooms, bedrooms and main rooms
- High-resistance technical vinyl in the gym
- Reclaimed wood beams in ceilings and structural spaces
- Decorative wooden staircase as a vertical communication axis
This is how real houses with wooden interiors are built, those where the material is not a response to a trend, but rather a way of understanding the home.
Costa Brava: light, wood and architecture
This house with wooden beams, continuous floors and fine materials exudes the essence of the Costa Brava: light, sea, tradition and modernity. A home designed to be lived in, where every detail counts and where wood is not imposing, but rather complementary.
A project developed in collaboration with Estudio Dom, where Moskito Parquets played a key role in defining the floors, structure and material identity of the home.
